[nvsoar__16Dec2007]Naval Career: 1957 - 58 - Yeoman Class "A" School, USNTC, San Diego, CA 1959 Personnel man School, San Diego, CA 1961 Naval Justice School, Newport, RI 1/10/58 to 7/30/62 Worked in the Commanding Officers office, and was also the classified control yeoman and the legal yeoman for the squadron. 7/30/62 Released from VP-2 to inactive reserve status. 8/25/67 Discharged from the United States Navy 12/12/70 Reenlisted in the U. S. Naval Reserves, Kansas City, Mo. 6/18/72 to 7/1/72 They were short handed in the message center and was sending yeoman on their two-week duty to work in the message center, Flag Administrative Unit, CINCPACFLT, Pearl Harbor, Hawaii (It was tough duty) 12/11/74 Discharged from the United States Navy Education: Washburn University, Topeka, Kansas Work History: 1966 to 1969 Employed as an insurance inspector with the majority of time spent completing investigations. Investigations involved interviewing the insured, inspecting records at county courthouses, interviewing doctors and law enforcement officials when death claims were involved, and conducting character credit and real property inspections. 1969 to 1977 Employed as a commercial lines insurance underwriter, and worked out of the Kansas City, Missouri, and Dallas, Texas offices. 1977 to 1980 Employed as a Field Representative. As a Field Representative, we were licensed insurance agents and handled some of the duties of an insurance agent. Most of our work involved inspecting grain elevators, feed mills and flour mills. 1980 to 2007 Worked as a field insurance auditor, and loss control specialist. We audited payroll records, and inspected risks for property, liability, workers compensation exposure, etc. 2007 Retired in June of this year. Family 1980 My wife, Carol and I were married in July. We have one daughter. Hobbies: I have started a small Farmers Market, and raise lots of homegrown items. I am also the Quartermaster for VFW 6240, Russell, Kansas. |
